This house is in Gloucester, VA. The original section was built in 1685 and the addition was designed by the English architect Christopher Wrenn and built in 1716. This addition was 5000+ square feet and was installed using long length heart pine. Floors of this era were usually gauged, planed, and undercut. For more information on historic flooring read the article about it on the about page which links to hardwood floors magazine.
